Still a work in progress...probably will always be....Lots more to do...
Hope you always any feedback much appreciated!
The first thing I noticed when I looked at this piece is the little hut. Not putting it in the centre of the painting is a very clever decision because having light fall on it draws the eye enough. The design of the hut is very nice and I like how it stands out in the cave-like environment. The rock bridges give the background a very light and fragile feel as if they might collapse any moment The mist plays a big part for me, personally, because it makes me want to venture in those caves, climb on those rocks and see what is inside this labyrinth.

Altogether, the composition is very balanced but it is clear that this is just work in progress. I would like to see the figures with more details, especially the grandmother. I really like how her character and face features resonate so well with the environment. Seems like she is imbued with the cave's essence. The rocks on the sides give the painting depth and I would really like to see them a bit more illuminated. The one on the right feels a bit empty, like a big dark blot, it would be nice to add more details. You could also play with the shading of the couple a bit more because they look a bit 2D when compared to the 3D environment.

The characters are very intriguing and I, personally, have a lot of questions about them. I would love to know more of their story. The old woman's pose seems a bit stiff to me, consider making her face the couple directly. Right now it looks as if she is facing the viewer which "breaks the fourth wall" and I don't think this is a suitable approach for this style.

The colour palette is very suitable for the theme-cold and mysterious- and also gives you great opportunities to play with light and warmer tones where you want to draw attention or add a friendlier nuance (for example the hut). Your blending technique suits this kind of images perfectly. Sometimes digital paintings seem to be too glossy and fake due to extensive blending. You have avoided that very well by leaving some areas more rugged, thus giving the image kind of a texture.

Overall,I really like how your work has such a great narrative and the viewer can make up their own story while looking at it. I can't wait to see the finished piece.
